Nicole VanDriessche is only 35 years old and is a single mom to her two beautiful children – Elle (8) and Jager (5). The family lives in Clinton Twp., Michigan.
On August 16, 2016 Nicole’s life as she knew it was shattered. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer which had metastasized to her bones. Immediately upon diagnosis Nicole began chemotherapy, radiation and will be facing multiple surgeries in the future.
Nicole shared with Angels of Hope that she and her children have lived with her mother for several years since her mother became ill and was diagnosed with chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. She has been in treatment off and on and unable to work for the past ten years. Because she was widowed 17 years ago, Nicole knew she needed to move in to care for her Mom during her illness, and help with the household expenses. Now that Nicole has her own battle ahead of her, she worries about how she will continue to care for her mom, her children and manage financially as the medical bills begin coming in. Due to her diagnosis, treatment and constant pain, Nicole was forced to take a leave from her job and is not sure when she will be able to return to work.
Angels of Hope is happy to step up to assist this family, at this very difficult time, with the payment of some of their day to day expenses.
