Kara Tassis and her husband, Jonathan, are the proud parents of two sons – Jonathan Jr. (6) and Joseph (4).
In April of 2016, at the very young age of 35 years old, Kara was diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnosis came as a shock to this young, busy mom of two active boys. She says she thought she would go through the mastectomy she underwent on May 20th, take time to recover and return to her job as a hair stylist. As she found out, the recovery from this surgery is long and intense and combined with chemotherapy and its effects, she was unable to get back to work. She now worries about the family’s financial situation and the strain it is causing on their family and the stress on her husband who is now working and caring for their two young children and Kara. Jonathon is a Police Officer. Kara lost both her parents at a very young age and still remembers the impact that this had on her and her siblings. She wants desperately to spare her children this stress and fear.
Angels of Hope is happy to be able to assist this young family, during this difficult time, with some of their day to day living expenses, so that Kara can focus on her treatment, recovery and returning to work and her life as a happy, healthy mom.
